Dear Paul – I think it’s wonderful you found healing through ayahuasca. Anything that helps is a positive thing! Thank you for sharing your experience with the community.
Very moving Paul, what magic you share. Thank you
Happy and excited for your transformation!
I did Ayahuasca years ago and it was definitely life changing.
I would do plant medicine any time my soul needs it, versus taking any psychiatric drugs that can actually be very dangerous and addictive.
Thanks for your honesty
Thanks for your share on this topic. Been sober in traditional 12 step recovery for 26 years and hit a similar place you described prior to your plant medicine journey. I’m about to start my own plant medicine journey after several years of research, consultation with trusted experienced individuals, and most importantly, my intuition. Your podcast has been encouraging!
Aloha, Paul, based on your and and another person’s testimony whom I trust and respect, I booked my retreat at Rythmia today! I have been struggling with my alcohol addiction for 10 years, in AA the whole time. I’m hoping for a miracle. Your Podcast has been a huge inspiration and help to me for the past year that I’ve been listening. Muchas Gracias!
I can completely relate to the addiction wack-a-mole. I just completed 18 months sober and am now questioning the possibility of an eating disorder. Your path both encourages me and terrifies me. All the best. Be well.
Thank you Paul. I joined because of this podcast…..keep the faith…. keep the passion…… and know there are many more lives to touch! Namaste!
Paul, your podcast tonight saved me from drinking. It is because of your podcast that I will see 19 days sober tomorrow. My “program” is to turn on your podcast when the water gets rocky, which allows me some time to make the right decision. I hope the podcast continues for a long time! -Sean
Love your honesty; you can hear the happiness in your voice. Paul 2.0 rocks!!
I tried to post a comment a week ago but it wasn’t published. It wasn’t “Rah Rah Rah” but it expressed my concern.
So I had a friend of mine post a similar message, expressing concern.
It sounds like you want only to show the people who are patting you on the back.
I agree to a lot of what you say Paul. It is quite logical that Alcohol is not a problem. Its a symptom of other underlying defects such as social anxiety, depression, aggressive narcissism etc. Actually, it is quite dangerous to think that alcohol is a problem in itself, because we often victimise ourselves as its some sort of disease we just have been born with (I do not ignore genetic predispositions) . But it is a drug, like sugar, attention seeking etc, which are all great dopamine enhancers. Alcohol is amazing stimulant, the same as tub of ice cream, however it has much different consequences to our bodies and surroundings.
LSD, Ayahuasca and more. I would do whatever drugs that are not enhancers and by research classified as ‘not addictive’. Ego death, dissolving your serotonin bonds, merging with your ancestors whatever you call it, it is amazing. I did LSD microdosing and saw profound change. Very different to those of alcohol. its funny because I did so much research on it, and in my period when I drunk, taking measures such as mentioned before, were reluctant to me. Why? Because it humbles you. It makes you dive deep into yourselves and more than often, we addicts hate doing that. We avoid difficult introspective tasks, we binge, avoid, seek excessive external novelty and excitement. What freaks us out, is that image of sitting in the cliche moment, in peace, not stimulated and be ok.
For me, I do whatever that helps. From changing my diet, meditating to taking drugs (non stimulants).
Anyway, keep it up people!
Thank you so much for sharing this Paul.
I have used psychedelic mushrooms in my own recovery and completely understand where you are coming from. Psychedelics have been hugely beneficial in my own recovery for many of the same reasons you described in this podcast.
It can be a tough thing to discuss due to the stigma. Very brave of you to post this and I admire your honesty. Keep it up
